Fall is the perfect time to capture family memories. The weather is cooler which allows outdoor shooting to go longer without everyone getting sweaty and tired. Maternity shoots can be so much more comfortable this time of year! The changing leaves provide a beautiful backdrop and the clothes can be cute and cozy.
Tip 1
Be creative with your clothing choices! Fall can mean browns and oranges but a beautiful burgundy or mustard can look amazing. Play to the colors that work with your skin tone within a color palette. And remember your colors don't have to match. Look for coordinating colors.
Tip 2
Location is definitely key in the fall. Take advantage of the fall colors and opt for an outdoor shoot this time of year. Be mindful in scheduling in order to take full advantage of the changing leaves.
Tip 3
I always schedule outdoor shoots for early or late in the day. After the time changes, It is important to note when the sun will be setting. Sunset photos can be very pretty but if you start too late, you may not have enough time to get the shots you want.

TIP 4
Activities are a great way to make a shoot feel fun, especially with young children. Play at a park or even in the leaves right in your backyard. Take time to have lots of breaks so they children don’t lose interest too quickly.
Tip 5
Plan for your holiday gifts! I always give family members a photo based gift. Grandparents will be thrilled to have them year round. Check out the quality photos items available for customization at Pinhole Press.*
